Specifications
We can produce slides from most page layout, presentation and illustration programs including
Powerpoint, Quark, Illustrator, Freehand, Pagemaker, Corel Draw, etc. Postscript slides have sharp text and
graphics and are ideal for meetings and presentations. Page setup for 35mm output should conform to a 3:2 aspect
ratio. Powerpoint has a preset 35mm layout which should be used instead of their default "screen show" layout.
For other programs, like those mentioned above, we recommend using a page size of 7.33" x 11".
Please Note: 35mm slides have a 3:2 aspect ratio image area. If your image is not 3:2, we
will size it to whichever edge hits first, and the unexposed area will remain black. Avoid placing text or
artwork too close to the edge of the page. A small amount of bleed is covered by the edge of the mount on all
four sides.
Placed scans must be in RGB color mode and preferably Photoshop EPS. Optimum resolution is
150 to 200 dpi based on a 7.33"x11" page size. Larger support files may increase the cost of your
slides. Linking your support files is preferable to embedding, if you have that option. Be sure to include
all support files and fonts with your order.
For files other than Powerpoint, send your images as RGB uncompressed tif files with no alpha
channels. Film recorders are RGB devices. CMYK files will have to be converted to RGB for film output. We can
convert your files for you, if necessary, at our file intervention rate of $60/hr with a 1/4 hour minimum.
Certain colors designated for Postscript output will not appear on film as they do on screen.
If critical colours are required, we suggest making a test slide first and adjust accordingly. If necessary,
we can help with color matching, quoted on a case-by-case basis. |
