Specifications

The LightJet digital printer can take both postscript (Quark) and bitmap (Tiff) files. Straight output from bitmap will however give you the best results because the machine is an RGB output device. When using postscript, usually your files are converted to CMYK and then converted back to RGB resulting in darker shadows and extreme contrast. When preparing a file you should ensure that your image is a minimum or 150 dpi at actual size (Maximum file size of 305 dpi at actual size).

Your file should be saved as an RGB TIFF file in PC format with no compression. Please ensure that the file extension is included and keep your file names short. If you are burning your files to a CD, please use the ISO 9660 setting. Although we have PCs and Macs, the RIPs that drive output devices are usually Windows NT machines. Where possible, format your zips as PC. This will not only make our job a little easier but it will also eliminate the possibility of transferring the autostart worm virus.
